Close to $3,500 worth of iolo software was initially delivered to the USO - Greater Los Angeles Area at LAX airport, with tens of thousands dollars worth of additional software on its way. The mission of the USO is to boost the morale of service members and serve as the link between them and the American people. Today, the USO delivers its programs and services to 1.4 million active duty service members,1.2 million National Guard and Reserves and their families at more than 130 centers located worldwide. "Here at the Bob Hope Hollywood USO at LAX, and at our two other local centers in Ontario and Palm Springs, we serve as a "home away from home" for troops in transit. Operated primarily by a team of public-spirited volunteers, our LAX flagship operation offers services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether on their way home, traveling to their bases, or headed to extended active duty, any service member who is passing through LAX airport is welcome," said Michael Teilmann, executive director. "The newly donated software from iolo technologies will help keep our USO computers running in optimal condition, and also help visiting service members keep their laptops and their families' desktops safe and recover any important photos or files they might have accidently deleted." iolo's new System Shield AntiVirus & AntiSpyware software is designed for absolute protection and maximum performance, ensuring computers are not only safe from malware and other threats, but that they suffer none of the slowdowns and performance loss so commonly experienced with other internet security products. iolo's Search and Recover is a powerful data recovery tool for retrieving accidentally deleted files, photos, and documents from computers and digital devices. Both programs represent critical value for highly mobile service members, who require their computers to be fast, reliable and problem-free, and whose photos, email, and documents are in many cases irreplaceable links with their families and friends. "Since before World War II, the USO has been the bridge between the American public and the U.S. military," said JJ Schoch, VP of marketing at iolo technologies. "During our visit at the Los Angeles USO, a welcoming camaraderie overflowed the building and we were moved to hear the service members say they wanted to do their part to make the world a better place. We are excited iolo's products can help them and contribute to this noble cause." iolo technologies has been engaged in a wide-ranging green campaign since 2008 to lower the number of prematurely discarded and decommissioned computers, currently estimated at more than 100 million annually, 82 percent of which were dumped after only 30 months of use. This marks iolo's second largest software donation to date, with more donations planned in the coming months.
